Poland scrambles fighter jets in response to russia's missile attack on Ukraine

The Polish Air Force was forced to scramble combat aircraft amid massive russian shelling of Ukrainian cities.

It was reported by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces on the morning of June 9.

It is noted that in response to the large-scale russian strikes on Ukraine, Polish and allied aircraft took to the skies. Ground-based air defense systems and radars were also put on full combat readiness.

These actions were preventive in nature and were used to guarantee security and monitor the situation in the immediate vicinity of Poland's borders. The Operational Command of the Armed Forces was constantly ready to respond to any threats to the territorial integrity of Poland and the safety of citizens.

On the night of June 9, russian troops attacked Ukrainian regions with drones and missiles. As a result of the shelling, in particular, an office building in the Darnytskyi District of the capital was damaged.
