President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the massive shelling by the aggressor country of russia on the night of June 6 in his Telegram channel. He emphasized that the russians continue to hit Ukrainian cities and must be held accountable for this.
"Russia is not changing its style. Another large-scale strike on cities and ordinary life. They hit almost all of Ukraine: in the Volyn, Lviv, Ternopil, Kyiv, Sumy, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Chernihiv Regions. Some of the missiles and drones were shot down. But, unfortunately, not all of them. Thanks to our soldiers for the protection," he wrote.
Zelenskyy said that this time the russians used more than 400 UAVs and more than 40 missiles, including ballistics, against Ukraine. According to him, 49 people are currently injured.
"Unfortunately, the number may increase: people are seeking help. At the moment, three people have been killed. These are employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. My sincere condolences to the relatives. All necessary services are currently working on the ground, clearing rubble, and rescue operations are underway. We will definitely restore all damage," the President added.
He emphasized that russia must be held accountable for its attacks on peaceful cities.
"From the first minute of this war, they have been hitting cities and villages to destroy life. We have done a lot together with the world to have the opportunity to defend ourselves. But now is the moment when America, Europe, and everyone in the world together can stop this war by putting pressure on russia. If someone does not press and gives the war more time to take lives, this is complicity and responsibility. We need to act decisively," Zelenskyy noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in Kyiv, a night-time combined attack by russians resulted in deaths and injuries, as well as significant destruction in six districts.
