On the night of June 5, russian troops struck Pryluky in the Chernihiv Region with suicide drones. The drones hit a residential building, killing at least five people, including a one-year-old child. Six more people were injured.
The head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Chaus, reported this on the Telegram channel.
“This night, the enemy attacked Pryluky with strike drones. One of them hit a residential area. Five people were killed. Among them were women and a small child. Six people were injured,” he wrote.
According to preliminary data, russian troops used at least six Geranium-type drones. As a result of the strike, two residential buildings, two garages, an outbuilding and a car burned down. No damage to infrastructure was recorded - according to the authorities, the target was civilians.
Under the rubble of one of the houses, rescuers found the bodies of a 46-year-old woman, her daughter born in 1998, and a one-year-old grandson.
The injured were hospitalized. Doctors report that the condition of some patients remains serious. Rescuers, police, and doctors are working at the scene of the tragedy. The rubble is being cleared - it is possible that people may remain under the rubble.
“When children die, it is not just war. It is deliberate terror. And we will not forget this,” said one of the representatives of the local authorities.
The Ukrainian authorities called on the international community to increase the supply of air defense systems to protect civilians from russian attacks.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Thursday, June 5, russian troops launched 103 drones and an Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile over the territory of Ukraine, the Air Defense Forces managed to shoot down 28 UAVs, 46 were lost/suppressed by electronic warfare.
The main areas of the air strike were the Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa Regions.
