President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and the aggressor country of russia have agreed to hold a new prisoner exchange during the second round of talks.
Zelenskyy made the corresponding statement at a press conference of the NATO Eastern Flank summit in Vilnius.
According to the President, he expects a full report from Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, who is leading the Ukrainian delegation at the talks in Turkey.
"They (representatives of Ukraine and russia - ed.) exchanged views, and we are preparing a new prisoner exchange," Zelenskyy said.
He did not specify whether the new exchange would be the same as it was after the first round of talks, when the parties carried out an exchange in the 1,000-for-1,000 format.
According to the Ukrinform agency, Umerov said after the talks that Ukraine had proposed a ceasefire, a prisoner exchange, and a meeting at the leadership level.
Umerov said that the russians agreed only to an exchange of prisoners.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, today, June 2, the second round of negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine and russia took place in Istanbul.
As stated by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, in Istanbul, the Ukrainian delegation handed over to the russians a list of children whom Moscow should return to their homeland.
