President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Karol Nawrocki on his victory in the Polish presidential election, noting that he expects consistently fruitful cooperation with Poland and personally with the newly elected President. Zelenskyy announced this on the X social network, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
“Congratulations to Karol Nawrocki on winning the presidential election. Poland, which preserves the strength of its national spirit and its faith in justice, has been and remains a pillar of regional and European security, and a strong voice defending freedom and dignity for every nation. By reinforcing one another on our continent, we give greater strength to Europe in global competition and bring the achievement of real and lasting peace closer. I look forward to continued fruitful cooperation with Poland and with President Nawrocki personally,” he said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Karol Nawrocki, a candidate from the Law and Justice party, won the second round of the presidential election in Poland, which took place on Sunday, June 1, gaining 50.89% of the vote.
Earlier, Nawrocki stated that he would not support the ratification of Ukraine's accession to NATO.
