Teaching staff have received a deferral of mobilization for the summer. This is stated in a message of the Ministry of Education and Science on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Teachers will receive a deferral of mobilization for the summer. The government has changed the conditions for granting a postponement from mobilization for teaching staff who work at least 0.75 time the rate. It was: until the end of the academic year. It became: for 1 year. The main change is that now teachers have the right to a deferral in the summer!" the message says.
To extend the deferral of mobilization, you need to submit a certificate of employment a week before the end of the mobilization period with confirmation of the position and the rate.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, a Verkhovna Rada member from the Servant of the People faction, Roman Hryshchuk, reported that the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution on the procedure for deferring military service, which entered into force on January 16, contains provisions that contradict the law on mobilization and mobilization training and may cause ambiguous interpretation, which creates uncertainty about the status of teachers in the summer months and the potential possibility of mobilizing students during the holidays.
After that, the Ministry of Defense explained regarding the deferral of mobilization for students and teachers that holidays and the end of the academic year are not grounds for losing the right to the deferral.
