The situation on the border of the Sumy Region remains tense — fighting and evacuation of the population continue. Russian troops are trying to advance, but the situation on the contact line is constantly changing.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, has stated this during a telethon.
"As of this morning, the enemy is trying to conduct offensive actions. The situation is complex, as usual during the actions of the aggressor. At the same time, I have 24/7 communication with the military command," he said.
Currently, evacuation from border villages is underway, but due to constant shelling and drone attacks, it is difficult to do so.
Hryhorov did not answer specifically how many settlements the russians control, referring to the constantly changing operational situation.
"The front line is flexible. And we have constant movements, as well as the successes of our Armed Forces of Ukraine. Therefore, I cannot provide such information at the moment. We can only talk about a certain "gray" zone in which the most active and combat operations are being conducted," the head of the Regional Military Administration noted.
Recall that the army of the aggressor country occupied one settlement and advanced near four more. The occupiers managed to achieve successes in the north of the Sumy Region and in the west of the Donetsk Region.
The day before, The Washington Post wrote, citing unnamed Ukrainian military and officials, that in the summer the russian army will launch a large-scale offensive in three regions of Ukraine.
