Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak said that since he entered politics with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, he will also leave with him. He reported this in a comment for the Politico publication.
Yermak said that he cannot talk about political plans and career during the war, because in the presence of russian aggression, political scenarios do not matter.
"I entered politics with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and will leave with him. For me, it is not about positions or political career. The President has the right to rely on those he trusts and on those who are able to work without days off and without self-pity. I am grateful for this trust and am doing everything possible to ensure that the team functions as a single mechanism in extremely difficult circumstances," Yermak said.
He said that talking about personal political plans during the war is "simply irresponsible," because if russian aggression is not stopped, "no political scenario will matter."
The head of the Office of the President also stated that the statements published in the article are myths, since Ukraine does not have a tradition of authoritarian rule.
"The state is a complex structure, where powers are always distributed. Even with the greatest desire, it is physically impossible to centralize everything. Ukraine does not have a historical tradition of authoritarian rule - society simply would not allow this. And President Zelenskyy understands this perfectly well," Yermak said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in the Politico article, the head of the Office of the President, Andrii Yermak, is called a "brilliant psychologist" who knows how to "read" Volodymyr Zelenskyy and offers him ready-made solutions.
