US, UK, France and Germany lift restrictions on Ukraine from strikes deep into russia

The United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany have lifted restrictions on Ukraine that prevented it from using Western weapons to strike deep into the territory of the aggressor country, russia.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated this during the Europaforum forum organized by the WDR television and radio company.

"Ukraine can now defend itself, including by striking military facilities on Russian territory. Until recently, it could not do this <...> Now it can," Merz said.

According to him, Ukraine can strike military facilities in the rear of russia. This, the Chancellor emphasized, is a qualitative change.

Merz also noted that Ukraine, unlike russia, does not carry out "ruthless attacks" on civilian objects.

"We attach great importance to ensuring that this remains the case," Merz concluded.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that in April of this year, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 62 targets on the territory of the russian federation using long-range UAVs.

We will remind, in December 2024, The New York Times wrote, citing its own sources, that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced to reduce the use of ATACMS missiles for strikes on the russian federation due to the depletion of their reserves.
