Russia preparing to launch thousand strike drones every night – media

Russia is actively increasing the production of Shahed strike drones and is already modifying their sixth version. This is reported by The Economist, citing intelligence and experts.

Journalists note that only a year ago, a massive strike of 30 drones per night was perceived as something extraordinary. Now the russian federation regularly launches hundreds. Thus, on the night of May 25, russia carried out the largest air attack on Ukraine – it launched 298 drones, which is likely to be a new record.

According to the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the russian federation is aiming to achieve the production of 500 Shaheds per day. The Economist suggests that if these plans are implemented, attacks by a thousand drones at the same time could become a real threat.

Aviation expert Kostiantyn Kryvolap doubts russia's ability to launch so many drones at once, but admits that the pace of their production has increased significantly. According to him, the kremlin's statements are often based on falsified statistics, but the threat of massive attacks is quite real.

The publication also recalls that since 2023, when Iran handed over the first Shaheds to russia, these drones have already undergone six modifications.
