The total state (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine in April compared to the previous month increased by 4.79%, or by USD 8.24 billion, to USD 179.97 billion.
This is stated in the data of the Ministry of Finance, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The state and state-guaranteed debt at the end of April amounted to UAH 7,480.33 billion, or USD 179.97 billion, against UAH 7,123.25 billion, or USD 171.73 billion, a month earlier.
The total amount of direct state debt as of the reporting date amounted to UAH 7,207.22 billion (USD 173.4 billion) against UAH 6,852.22 billion (USD 165.2 billion) a month earlier.
At the same time, direct external debt increased from USD 120.94 billion to USD 129.38 billion during the month.
Direct domestic debt decreased in hryvnia equivalent from UAH 1,835.65 billion to UAH 1,829.7 billion (in dollar equivalent - from USD 44.26 billion to USD 44.02 billion).
State-guaranteed debt at the end of the reporting month amounted to UAH 273.1 billion, or USD 6.57 billion.
Ukraine's total state (direct and guaranteed) debt in 2024 increased by 14.27%, or USD 20.74 billion, to USD 166.06 billion.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine's total public (direct and guaranteed) debt for 2023 increased by 30.4%, or USD 33.87 billion, to a record USD 145.32 billion.
In 2022, total public debt increased by USD 13.39 billion, or 13.66%, to USD 111.34 billion.
In 2021, public debt increased by 8.52%, or USD 7.69 billion, to USD 97.95 billion.
In 2020, total public debt increased by 6.9% from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.
