Ukraine and the US have completed all procedures for launching the US-Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund (minerals agreement). First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Ukraine and the US have completed all necessary procedures for launching the US-Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund. The last step was a diplomatic note from the US. Today I received it from the US Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine Julie S. Davis. Now we can officially consider that the Fund has been launched," she said.
Svyrydenko noted that the agreement with the US on the reconstruction fund provides for an equal partnership that respects the national interests of Ukraine, joint management and investment with America, the work of the fund is focused on the future, in which the US and Ukraine jointly invest in the restoration and development of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Economy notes that earlier the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and the state organization "Agency for the Support of Public-Private Partnerships" (PPP) signed two commercial partnership agreements, therefore, on May 23, the US-Ukrainian Investment Fund was launched.
The Ministry of Economy also notes that the DFC and the PPP Agency will cooperate and invest in accelerating Ukraine's economic recovery. The Fund will invest funds contributed by the US and Ukraine in projects for the extraction of natural resources, oil and gas, ports, as well as in the relevant infrastructure of Ukraine.
In addition, the Fund will facilitate connections between Ukrainian companies and potential investors in resources, including DFC. The Fund will operate without a time limit, but every 10 years the partners will review its results.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 8, the Verkhovna Rada ratified the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the United States of America on the establishment of the US-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund (Minerals Agreement), concluded on April 30, 2025. The agreement enters into force on the date of a later note in the exchange of notes between the parties stating that each party has completed its internal procedures.
