On Thursday, May 22, Liliya Volodymyrivna Malion was elected as the new head of the National Commission for State Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum and Provision of Postal Services (Electronic Communications Commission) by secret ballot.
This was announced in a statement by the Commission, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The statement states that Liliya Malion has been working in the national regulatory body since 2012, and since 2021 she has been a member of the national regulatory body, has many years of experience in the field of electronic communications and international cooperation, among other things, she manages the direction of European integration, in particular, the adaptation (harmonization) of Ukrainian legislation in the fields of electronic communications, radio frequency spectrum and provision of postal services to EU legislation and the integration of Ukrainian markets in these areas with EU markets (primarily the integration of Ukraine into the EU Digital Single Market).
The previous head, Oleksandr Zhyvotovskyi, resigned due to the expiration of his term of office.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 28, 2014, former President Petro Poroshenko dismissed Andrii Semenchenko from the post of Chairman of the Commission and appointed Oleksandr Zhyvotovskyi in his place.
