On Friday morning, May 23, explosions were recorded in the Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk Regions that occurred during an air alert that sounded against the background of an attack by enemy Shahed drones.
According to Suspilne and local Telegram channels, the first explosion in the Chernivtsi Region occurred at approximately 4:26 am. Later, at 4:39 am, information appeared about repeated explosions in the region. A few minutes earlier, at 4:14 am, an air alert was declared in the Chernivtsi Region due to the threat of drone strikes.
At about 4:50 am, residents of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region also began to report explosions.
At 5:17 am, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration informed about the work of air defense forces.
At this point, no official information about the consequences of the attack in the western regions has been made public. The situation continues to develop.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of Wednesday, May 21, russian troops launched 76 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to shoot down 35 of them, and another 58 drones were lost in location (suppressed by electronic warfare means).
