On the morning of May 22, loud explosions from air defense forces were heard in Kyiv, and several enemy unmanned aerial vehicles were recorded over the city.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, reported this on Telegram.
"Enemy UAVs are approaching Kyiv. Air defense work is possible," Tymur Tkachenko reported.
At 7:51 a.m., monitoring channels reported the movement of drones in the Bortnychi area, Boryspilska metro station and Kharkivskyi Masyv. Later, targets were recorded in the Osokorky and Pozniaky areas.
Note that the alert in Kyiv was declared at 7:39 a.m. The explosions in Kyiv occurred around 7:56 a.m. A few minutes before that, the Air Forces reported about UAVs over the capital.
Local residents were urged to immediately go to the nearest shelters and stay there until the alarm was lifted.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Wednesday, May 21, russian troops launched 76 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to shoot down 35 of them, another 58 drones were lost in location (suppressed by electronic warfare).
On the morning of May 16, explosions were heard in Kyiv, and air defense forces shot down enemy russian drones during the declared air alert.
