Compared to the settlement price of the previous day (USD 430.3 per thousand cubic meters), there is a positive trend.

In mid-February, the cost of gas on the European exchange was significantly higher, for the first time in two years exceeding the level of USD 630 per thousand cubic meters.

On average, last year, gas futures traded for USD 386.5, which is 16.3% less than the previous year.

The highest gas prices were observed in 2021-2022.

Such a steady increase in prices was unprecedented since the establishment of gas hubs in Europe in 1996.

The record mark of USD 3,892 per thousand cubic meters was recorded in early spring 2022.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early May, European gas prices rose against the backdrop of growing demand in Asia and reduced supplies from Norway.
