Trump's special envoy Witkoff postpones visit to putin after he rejects Ukraine-US peace plan – FT

Russian leader vladimir putin has refused to discuss the peace plan developed by US special envoy Steve Witkoff with representatives of Ukraine and the US. As a result, Witkoff's next meeting with putin has been canceled.

This is reported by the Financial Times, citing three people familiar with the discussions.

According to them, Witkoff learned about putin's reluctance to talk about the peace plan from senior russian officials.

This, they say, led to the fact that Trump's special envoy postponed his next trip to putin this week, although a person close to him claims that no further trip was planned at all.

The plan that Witkoff brought and wanted to discuss consisted of 22 points. The next day, Ukrainian and American officials discussed the same points during a telephone conversation. Ukraine was represented in the conversation by the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, and the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, and the US was represented by Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.

It is currently unknown what kind of peace plan the FT is writing about.
