On May 16, 145 combat clashes took place on the front, the enemy attacked most of all on the Pokrovsk (52 clashes) and Toretsk (19) axes.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated this in its operational update, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Over the past day, the invaders carried out one missile and 63 air strikes, used one missile and dropped 112 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, the enemy attracted 2,596 kamikaze drones for destruction and carried out 5,653 attacks on positions of troops and settlements, in particular, 135 from multiple launch rocket systems.

Thus, on the Kharkiv axis, 5 attacks were repelled in the areas of Vovchansk, Stroivka and Kamianka.
On the Kupiansk axis, 4 attacks of the occupiers were repelled on the axis of Kolisnykivka, Novoosynove and near Zahryzove during the day.
On the Lyman axis, the enemy attacked 17 times, trying to advance near the settlements of Hrekivka, Torske, Yampolivka, Kolodiazi and towards Shyikivka, Olhivka, Novyi Myr, Ridkodub and Zelena Dolyna.
On the Siversk axis, 4 attacks were repelled in the areas of Verkhniokamianske and Bilohorivka.
On the Kramatorsk axis, two clashes were recorded near Chasiv Yar and Kurdiumivka.
On the Toretsk axis, 19 attacks were repelled in the areas of Toretsk, Krymske and towards Dyliivka, Katerynivka, Pleshchiivka and Novospaske.
On the Pokrovsk axis, the defenders stopped 52 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Novoserhiivka, Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Zaporizhzhia, Troitske, Bohdanivka, Andriivka and towards the settlements of Novoukrainka, Oleksiivka, Poltavka, Yablunivka, Stara Mykolaivka, Nova Poltavka.
On the Novopavlivka axis, 18 attacks were repelled in the areas of Kostiantynopil, Shevchenko, Novosilka and towards Bahatyr and Zelene Pole.
On the Huliaipole and Dnieper axes, no clashes were recorded over the past day.
On the Orikhiv axis, 2 enemy assaults were repelled near Shcherbaky and Mali Shcherbaky.
On the Kursk axis (russian federation) over the past day, 13 clashes took place.
The enemy carried out 20 air strikes here using 37 guided bombs, and also carried out 195 artillery attacks, including 8 from multiple launch rocket systems.
On May 16, the Defense Forces' aviation, missile troops and artillery struck 7 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and one enemy air defense system.
In total, the losses of the russian invaders over the past day amounted to 910 people.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 15, 165 combat clashes took place at the front, with the enemy attacking most of the time on the Pokrovsk (75 clashes) and Novopavlivka (23) axes.
