The aggressor country of russia continues to build up forces for a new offensive to seize as much territory in Ukraine as possible. CNN reported this on Thursday, May 15, citing two senior American officials.
According to informed sources, russia is currently seeking to concentrate large forces on the front lines for an offensive in eastern Ukraine to occupy even more territory.
"Putin will try to seize any land he can, all the way to the outskirts of Kyiv. The russians will do everything they can to get everything they can," the report says.
US assessments show that the aggressor is being held back by Ukrainian drones and minefields, despite russia's significant superiority in human resources, both in eastern Ukraine and in the Kursk Oblast. Although russia is facing difficulties in accumulating forces, it is moving a significant number of troops and equipment to positions several dozen kilometers from the front line, the publication writes.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, since the beginning of 2024, the army of the aggressor country of russia has lost more than 400,000 servicemen killed or wounded. During this time, it managed to capture less than one percent of Ukrainian territory.
At the same time, at the current pace of advancement on the battlefield, the aggressor country of russia would need to sacrifice 101 million lives of its citizens to completely occupy Ukraine in 2256.
