President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Ukrainians on Vyshyvanka Day and Family Day. Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Today is about something very important: our roots, family. The meanings that are united by one date this year. In each pattern of Ukrainian Vyshyvankas is the power of lineage, traditions, history. The power of many people, thanks to whom we all exist. A connection that is passed down between generations and which we must protect and appreciate. We will definitely preserve and pass on Ukrainian, our native, to the next generations. Happy Vyshyvanka Day and Family Day, Ukraine!", he noted.
Along with this post, Zelenskyy published a photo of himself and his wife Olena in Vyshyvankas. This year, he chose a black shirt with an ornament of red berries stylized in the form of a viburnum branch, while Olena chose a white shirt with an ornament of rhombuses embroidered with flowers.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, every year on the third Thursday of May, Ukrainians celebrate Vyshyvanka Day. Last year, Zelenskyy and his wife also congratulated Ukrainians on Vyshyvanka Day in black and white shirts.
