The President of the United States of America Donald Trump has to realize that the real obstacle to peace is the russian dictator vladimir putin. And it is the aggressor country of the russian federation, not Ukraine, that is delaying the process of ending the war.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated this, The Guardian reports.
"Trump needs to believe that Putin actually lies. And we should do our part. Sensibly approach this issue, to show that it’s not us that is slowing down the process," Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian President also expressed hope that Trump will meet with him in Turkey.
"If Trump travels, it will push Putin also to travel. Trump can really help. It’s the situation where the US being present can give important guarantees," Zelenskyy added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 11, russian dictator vladimir putin publicly stated russia's alleged readiness for bilateral talks with Ukraine. He proposed holding them in Turkey this Thursday, May 15.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would personally wait for putin for bilateral talks.
At the same time, US leader Donald Trump admitted that he may visit Turkey on May 15 to participate in the talks between Zelenskyy and putin.
