Ambassadors of the European Union countries have approved a new package of restrictive measures against the aggressor country russia for its full-scale military aggression against Ukraine.
Radio Liberty correspondent Rikard Jozwiak reported this on Wednesday, May 14.
"EU ambassadors just gave green light to the 17th sanctions package on RU," Jozwiak wrote on X (Twitter).
The journalist added that the ambassadors of the EU countries also approved additional restrictions against russia.
These are sanctions for human rights violations, hybrid intervention around the world and the spread of chemical weapons.
The journalist did not provide any other details about the additional sanctions of the European Union against the russian federation.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 6, Reuters announced, citing sources, that the new package of European sanctions against russia included more than 100 tankers from the so-called "shadow fleet."
According to the Financial Times, the 17th package of EU sanctions includes restrictions on companies from five countries that help russia circumvent previously imposed sanctions.
