If russia does not respond to ceasefire proposal by end of day, there will be new sanctions - German government spokesman

The aggressor country russia must respond to the ceasefire proposal by the end of the day, May 12, or face sanctions.

The German government spokesman Stefan Kornelius has stated this, The Guardian reports.

According to the publication, Germany warned that "the clock is ticking" and russia must agree to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine by the end of Monday or face possible new sanctions.

"If Moscow does not accept the demand, preparations for new sanctions will begin," Kornelius said.

Recall, on May 11, russian dictator vladimir putin declared his readiness to hold direct negotiations with Ukraine on May 15 in Turkey, while he did not respond to the proposal for a ceasefire from May 12 for 30 days.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he will personally arrive in Turkey on May 15, where he will wait for putin.

Meanwhile, the russians are ignoring the ceasefire proposal from May 12 and continue to attack Ukrainian positions along the entire front line.
