Today, May 12, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced the closure of the Consulate General of the aggressor country, the russian federation, in Krakow over the involvement of russian special services in the arson attack on a shopping mall in Warsaw on Marywilska Street in 2024. This was reported by the Polish publication Onet.
"Due to the evidence that it was the Russian special services that carried out the shameful act of sabotage against the shopping mall on Marywilska Street, I have decided to revoke the permit for the operation of the Consulate of the Russian Federation in Krakow," Sikorski wrote on his account on X.
At the same time, the Polish Ministers of Justice and Interior issued a joint statement regarding the arson attack on a shopping mall in Warsaw.
"We now know, based on the accumulated evidence, that the fire was the result of arson ordered by Russian special services. We are well aware of the order and course of the arson, as well as how it was documented by the criminals. Their actions were organized and directed by an identified person residing in the Russian Federation. Some of the perpetrators are already in custody, others are being identified and searched for. The prosecutor's office, the police, and the Internal Security Agency continue investigative and operational actions aimed at their detention," the ministers' statement said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Poland previously stated that russia was trying to interfere in the presidential elections.
