On the night of May 12, russian troops carried out a massive air attack on the territory of Ukraine, launching 108 strike drones and guided aerial bombs.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
The attack took place on the very day when Ukraine, together with the United States and other Western partners, called on moscow to declare a ceasefire.
According to the military, the enemy launched Shahed drones and imitation drones from various directions: Bryansk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from occupied Crimea. The air alert lasted almost the entire night in many regions.
The flight of UAVs was recorded in the Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kharkiv and other regions. Guided air bombs were dropped on the Sumy and Zaporizhzhia Regions.
The Air Forces destroyed 55 enemy drones over the eastern, northern, southern and central regions of the country.
As a result of the russian attack, civilian infrastructure was hit in the Odesa, Mykolaiv, Donetsk and Zhytomyr Regions.
In the Dnipropetrovsk Region, two people were injured due to shelling. According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, residential buildings were also damaged in the region.
In the Zaporizhzhia Region, the occupiers carried out 494 strikes on 16 settlements in a day. As a result of shelling of the village of Pavlivka in the Vasylivka District, two women were injured - 75 and 56 years old. The destruction of houses, apartments and outbuildings is also reported.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 11, russian dictator vladimir putin allegedly announced his readiness to hold direct talks with Ukraine starting May 15. In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the very first step in ending the war should be a complete ceasefire.
Also, US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to Ukraine, General Keith Kellogg, said that there should first be an unconditional ceasefire for 30 days, during which peace talks could begin.
