The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) head Vasyl Maliuk has fired Anatolii Loif, head of the Main Department for Counterintelligence Support of Critical Infrastructure Facilities and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, from his position.
The SSU press service reported this at the request of the Ukrainian Pravda website.
"Anatolii Loif, head of the Main Department for Counterintelligence Support of Critical Infrastructure Facilities and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, was dismissed from his position by decision of the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine," the press service said.
Loif managed to work in his position for a year, as he was appointed in 2024 after the dismissal of Artem Shyl.
The media report that the reason for the dismissal is an investigation by journalists, in which the official appeared.
In particular, Slidstvo.Info published an investigation in 2024, in which it was possible to establish that the mother of a top official, Hanna Loif, is the owner of elite real estate. The woman worked as a teacher at a medical college.
His father, Hryhorii Loif, declared an apartment in Pechersk (Kyiv) worth almost UAH 4 million, although the market value is twice as much.
The investigation notes that the declaration of the SSU official himself is closed.
Another investigation by Ukrainian Pravda, published on May 9, 2025, reported that in early March, Loif and several other SSU special services officers celebrated Kostiantyn Kolomiyets' birthday in a restaurant. It is noted that the birthday boy is the head of security for the owner of the sanctioned bookmaker PariMatch Serhii Portnov.
