Russia announces closure of airspace over Kapustin Yar test site, from where Oreshnik was fired at Dnipro

Russia will close the airspace over the Kapustin Yar test site for two days, May 12 and 13, due to a possible launch of ballistic missiles.

This is stated on the official NOTAMs website, which is designed to warn aircraft pilots about possible dangers along the route or location that may affect flight safety.

The conditions for closing the airspace may indicate a possible launch of ballistic missiles. First of all, the specified altitude range that will be closed attracts attention: from ground level to unlimited altitude.

The ban applies to all aircraft that can fly in this area on May 12 and 13 from 06:00 am to 04:00 pm local time.

It is worth noting that a similar flight ban was already in effect earlier - on November 21, 2024, on the eve of the strike by the Kedr ballistic missile on the city of Dnipro.
