Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and self-proclaimed Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, who are in conflict with each other, were seated next to each other at russian dictator vladimir putin's parade in moscow. It was reported by Tengri News.
According to journalists, this is probably the first personal meeting between Pashinyan and Lukashenko after the skirmish "over the TV", which they staged in December 2024 at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg.
Then Lukashenko reminded those present that the chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2025 would pass to Belarus. In this regard, he proposed holding the summer meeting of the council in Minsk and combining it with the Eurasian Economic Forum.
Pashinyan, in turn, stated that Armenia does not object to holding the Supreme Economic Council of the EAEU in Minsk, but noted that the delegation will participate in the meeting via video conference.
Journalists note that back in the summer of 2024, Nikol Pashinyan stated that he would not go to Belarus as long as the country's "president" is Aleksandr Lukashenko.
"I state that from now on I will never go to Belarus again. As long as Aleksandr Lukashenko is the president of Belarus. And in general, I declare that from now on, no official representative of Armenia will go to Belarus," the Armenian Prime Minister said then.
In addition, in January 2025, Lukashenko called for "calming" Pashinyan.
"Calm him down there. He will destroy Armenia. He has a problem on one side - from the east, he has a problem on the west. He is also turning Russia against him. He is surrounded, a small territory. The population is not gigantic. And he has surrounded himself with enemies... He will destroy the country. Therefore, he must be calmed down," Lukashenko said.
The publication also emphasizes that at the parade in moscow, Lukashenko and Pashinyan could have been next to each other due to the alphabetical seating arrangement.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that the russian federation invited foreign military personnel to the parade in moscow in order to "whitewash the war crimes" of its army and justify aggression against Ukraine.
