President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that he had a conversation with US President Donald Trump, the main topic of which was the cessation of russian aggression and economic partnership between the two countries. The head of state wrote about this on his Facebook page on Thursday, May 8.
Zelenskyy noted that together with Trump they congratulated the ratification of the agreement on minerals and the peoples of the countries on the day of victory over Nazism. According to him, they also discussed further efforts for peace.
"President Trump asked about the situation on the battlefield, and I briefly briefed him. He also said that Ukraine is ready for a 30-day ceasefire, starting today. We expect Russia to agree to this proposal. I also confirmed that Ukraine is ready for negotiations in any format. But for this, Russia must show the seriousness of its intentions to end the war, starting with a complete and unconditional ceasefire," Zelenskнy stressed.
President Trump stressed that he wants an end to the russian aggression, is ready to help and supports the need for a ceasefire, the President of Ukraine noted.

On May 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's press secretary Serhii Nykyforov said that a telephone conversation was taking place between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump.
As a reminder, on May 8, the Verkhovna Rada ratified the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the United States of America on the establishment of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund (minerals agreement).
