The agreement between Ukraine and the United States of America opens a new page in relations between the two states and is a joint investment effort for decades. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this on his Telegram channel on Thursday, May 8.
Zelenskyy noted that he expects the legal procedures regarding the economic agreement to be completed soon and thanked all the parliamentarians who voted for the agreement.
"There has never been such a promising economic agreement in relations between Ukraine and America. This is a joint investment effort with the United States for decades. Now it is a strong basis for security cooperation, and in the future for decades - an opportunity for Ukraine and America to increase mutually beneficial economic cooperation, develop industry in our countries and jobs, and ensure technological development," Zelenskyy emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of May 1, Ukraine and the United States signed an agreement on minerals.
On May 8, the Verkhovna Rada ratified the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the United States of America on the establishment of the US-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund (minerals agreement).
Also, on May 8, the Verkhovna Rada included amendments to the Budget Code to implement the agreement with the US on minerals on the agenda.
