"Russia wants too much" – Vance on russia's demands for Ukraine

The aggressor country is demanding "too much" in negotiations to end the war against Ukraine, especially for territories it does not control. US Vice President J.D. Vance said this in an interview with Fox News on Thursday, May 8.

According to him, russia is making unreasonable demands for territories that it cannot capture and control.

"Russia cannot expect to be given territory that it has not even conquered yet. And that is one of the things that they wrote down in that initial peace plan," Vance stressed.

We do not want the collapse of Ukraine, we want it to remain a sovereign country, the US Vice President noted. According to him, progress is in the fact that Ukraine and russia are talking.

"We knew that Russia would ask for much, much more than you can imagine at first. That is how the negotiations are going," Vance said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 5, US President Donald Trump admitted that moscow seeks a complete takeover of Ukraine.

On May 6, Trump said that the decline in oil prices is increasing pressure on the aggressor country russia and increasing the likelihood of a peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine.
