In April, population bought currencies by USD 187.8 million more than it sold

In April, the population bought currencies by USD 187.8 million more than it sold, which is the lowest figure since September 2023.

This is stated in the reporting data of the National Bank of Ukraine, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In the cash foreign exchange market in April, the net purchase of currencies by the population exceeded sales.

In April, Ukrainians sold currencies by USD 1,539.3 million in equivalent, and bought them by USD 1,727.2 million in equivalent.

In 2024, the population bought USD 11,054.4 million more than it sold.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2023, the population bought USD 3,362.1 million more than it sold.

According to the results of 2022, the population bought currencies by USD 1,009.5 million more than it sold.

In 2021, the population sold USD 1,214.7 million more in currency than it bought.

In 2020, the volume of cash currency sales exceeded the volume of purchases by USD 1.098 billion.

The National Bank introduced managed exchange rate flexibility from October 3, 2023.

The NBU canceled all currency restrictions for the import of works and services and allowed the repatriation of "new" dividends.

The National Bank of Ukraine has introduced new approaches to determining the list of currencies to which the official hryvnia exchange rate is set daily, and has also canceled the list of currencies for monthly setting of the official exchange rate.
