Night attack on Kyiv: russia strikes with ballistic missile and 28 kamikaze drones

On the night of May 7, Kyiv was subjected to another massive attack by russia. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, the invaders used one ballistic missile and 28 strike drones.

“Kyiv was subjected to an attack with ballistic missile and enemy strike UAVs. 1 ballistic target and 28 russian drones have been recorded in the airspace of the capital and its outskirts since the beginning of the day,” the Kyiv City Military Administration official statement said.

Air defense forces destroyed a ballistic missile - the debris fell in the Solomyanskyi district, where non-residential infrastructure was damaged. The fire that broke out at the crash site was extinguished by 3 a.m. One person was injured.

According to operational data, 11 enemy drones were destroyed in the airspace of the capital and its surroundings. Another 10 left the air defense zone, three were lost from radar. The Kyiv City Military Administration emphasized that most of the drones were aimed specifically at Kyiv.

As a result of the attack, residential buildings in four districts of the capital were damaged:

• Dniprovskyi district - a drone hit a high-rise building. The ceiling between the 29th and 30th floors was destroyed. There was no fire, no people were injured.
• Sviatoshynskyi district - missile fragments hit a 9-story building. Apartments from the 6th to the 9th floors were set on fire. The fire, covering an area of ​​100 sq.m., was extinguished. Rescuers pulled out five people - one adult and four children. Three children were hospitalized with burns. Among the injured are a 13-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, a brother and sister.
• Shevchenkivskyi district - a fire in a five-story building. The fire engulfed apartments on the third and fifth floors. The bodies of two killed were found during the extinguishing.
• Solomyanskyi district - a drone fell into an open area, no injuries were reported.

As of this morning, two people were confirmed killed, six more were injured, including four children. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, information about two more victims is being verified.

“All services are working on the ground. Changes in the organization of traffic are possible in connection with the elimination of the consequences,” the administration reported.

As previously reported, a day earlier, on the night of May 6, the russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 136 strike UAVs and other types of simulator drones.
