Former men with limited fitness for military service will undergo basic training in new way from May – AFU StratCom

Servicemen from the former category of "limited fitness" from May 1 will undergo an updated basic training program that takes into account the peculiarities of their physical condition.

The Strategic Communications Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU StratCom) announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that the updated program for such servicemen provides for:

  • reduction of the training period to one month (instead of 45 days);
  • reduction of the level of physical exertion;
  • formation of separate training units (companies or platoons).

The Strategic Center recalled that this applies to servicemen fit for service in support units, security units, territorial recruitment and social support centers, higher military educational institutions, training centers, institutions, medical units, as well as logistics, communications and security units.

"These are military personnel who have just been called up for service, and those who have previously undergone training at military training departments or are undergoing military training again for various reasons," the report says.
