The Cabinet of Ministers is asking the Verkhovna Rada to ratify the minerals agreement by May 8. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this during the "hour of questions to government", Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We would be grateful if the parliament had time to ratify (the agreement) by May 8," he said.
The government is asking the parliament to ratify the agreements as soon as possible, but in accordance with the regulations and procedures.
"The government is asking to do this as quickly as possible under the existing legislation," he added.
In his Telegram channel, Oleksii Honcharenko, MP from the European Solidarity faction, said that the Verkhovna Rada will hold an extraordinary meeting to ratify the agreement.
Recall that earlier Svyrydenko explained how the investment fund will function within the framework of the mineral resources agreement with the United States.
