The enemy is most active in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group on the Pokrovsk axis, where it seeks to cross the strategic Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka highway. The Novopavlivka and Toretsk sections also remain "hot", the group's spokesman Viktor Trehubov said on the air of We-Ukraine.
"In general, the enemy does not abandon its attempts to approach the city of Pokrovsk, and is also actively trying to advance on the Novopavlivka axis towards the administrative border of the Donetsk Region. Plus, active urban battles are taking place in the city of Chasiv Yar on the Kramatorsk axis and in the city of Toretsk. The enemy has a plan to cut the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka route and go beyond it. In general, in the enemy's plans, Kostiantynivka clearly has a significant priority, it is a railway junction, and they hope to get to it, if not from one side, then from the other. Actually, both the attempt to pass through Toretsk, and the attempt to pass through Chasiv Yar, the attempt to cross the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka route can serve as a key for further operations towards Kostiantynivka," he said.
Trehubov explained that along this route the russians could theoretically turn to Pokrovsk, but it would be much more inconvenient there, because there is also Myrnohrad there. As of today, the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka highway is not under enemy control.
"However, there is a problem. It lies in the fact that now on the front on all axes drones from both sides fly at a very long distance. Therefore, just as Ukrainian drones can hit a target about 30-40 kilometers from the line where Ukrainian troops are located, so can Russian ones. And this highway falls into this zone. Sometimes the enemy can try to hit something on this highway, and he may succeed. When I personally asked my colleague how unsafe it is to drive on it, he honestly answered me - in bad weather it is safe, but in good weather - when drones are flying - there is already danger, you have to go around. Fortunately, there is somewhere to go around," summed up the spokesman for Khortytsia.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the DeepState analytical project stated that on the night of Wednesday, April 30, the russian army occupied the village of Sukha Balka near Niu York in the Donetsk Region.
