In US, they submit on Donald Trump’s impeachment: Congressman names 7 reasons

A motion to impeach the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, has been submitted to the US House of Representatives. The initiator was Congressman Shri Thanedar from Michigan.

This was stated in the publication of the politician on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

"I have filed articles of impeachment against President Trump. When Trump ignores the Constitution, Congress and the courts, he is not fighting for America. He is destroying it and endangering our democracy," Thanedar wrote.

The Congressman announced the filing of seven articles of impeachment, which include accusations of serious violations, including:

  • Deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia (Thanedar called it erroneous)
  • Creation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) without the consent of Congress;
  • Tariff policy, which allegedly harmed the US and world economies;
  • Pressure on the media and violations of the First Amendment on freedom of speech;
  • Facts of bribery and interference in the judicial system;
  • Illegal collection of citizens' personal data;
  • Concentration of power contrary to constitutional restrictions.

"Article Seven is a tyrannical abuse of power. Trump is trying to concentrate unlimited power and destroy the constitutional boundaries of the presidency. In our country, presidents, but not kings. This is not just a violation - this is an impeachable violation," Thanedar said.

What is impeachment in the United States

Impeachment is the process of formally accusing the US President of serious crimes, such as treason, bribery, or other serious offenses. After the House of Representatives approves the articles of impeachment, the decision is sent to the Senate for consideration. At least 67 votes out of 100 are required to remove the President.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Trump set a record for the decline in ratings during the first 100 days of his second term.
