The power generation company Ukrhydroenergo and the World Bank signed a financial agreement on the project "Additional financing for the project "Ukraine - Increasing the resilience of the power system for European integration of the power grid (Installation of hybrid electricity generation systems at PrJSC Ukrhydroenergo).
This is announced in the company's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The signing of the financial agreement and guarantee agreement took place on April 25, 2025 at the World Bank (IBRD) office in Washington during the Spring Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
The statement says that USD 70 million was provided to support the stability of the Ukrainian power system.
The project involves the installation of storage systems at four generating facilities of Ukrhydroenergo and is aimed at improving performance indicators and expanding a number of auxiliary services that the company provides to the electricity market.
The planned capacity of the solar power plant is 35.9 MW, and the storage batteries are 197 MW.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukrhydroenergo has signed an agreement for the construction of a protective structure for the Dnipro HEPP worth UAH 4.36 billion with BC Adamant LLC.
Ukrhydroenergo includes Kyiv HEPP, Kyiv PHES, Kaniv HEPP, Kremenchuk HEPP, Seredniodniprovska HEPP, Dnipro HEPP, Dniester HEPP, Dniester PHES and Kakhovka HEPP, with a total installed capacity of 5.745 GW.
100% of Ukrhydroenergo's shares are owned by the state and are managed by the Ministry of Energy.
