The supervisory board of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company has elected Serhii Koretskyi as the new chairman of the board.
This was announced to Forbes Ukraine by a source at Naftogaz familiar with the details of the appointment, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that the decision was made at a meeting of the supervisory board on April 28.
According to ExPro, Serhii Koretskyi and Oleh Prokhorenko, who previously headed Ukrgasvydobuvannia and is best known for the 20/20 production intensification program, reached the final stage of selection.
Koretskyi has headed the country's largest oil producing company, PJSC Ukrnafta, as well as Ukrtatnafta, since November 2022.
The head of these two companies is no stranger to the oil business.
Koretskyi joined the Continuum group, founded by entrepreneurs Ihor Yeremeyev and Stepan Ivakhiv, in the late 1990s.
In 2013, he developed the WOG gas station chain as CEO. In October 2018, Koretskyi resigned and began developing his own chain of cafes under the Idealist Coffee brand.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Serhii Koretskyi, director of the largest oil producing company Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta (Kremenchuk Oil Refinery, Poltava Region), declared UAH 26.659 million in salary in 2024 (about UAH 2.22 million per month).
