The russian invaders have resumed the export of Ukrainian grain to Syria. The "Akhmat Kadyrov Fund" is behind the mass looting. This was reported by the head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andriushchenko.
"This week we recorded a freight train with grain from Donetsk in the direction of Volnovakha. The train was moving towards the port of Rostov-on-Don. With Ukrainian grain," the report says.
Andriushchenko recalled that most of the grain stolen by russia in 2022-2024 went by sea through the ports of Syria. After the fall of the Assad regime, the grain flow through Syria stopped, and the russians began to look for other sales routes. Such as Egypt or Turkey, but the volumes were no longer the same.
"However, on April 20, the first new batch of grain arrived in Latakia (Syria, - ed.). 6,600 tons of grain, the delivery of which was organized through the "Akhmat Kadyrov Fond". According to information from various open sources, the head of the Chechen Republic undertook to provide Syria with the necessary amount of wheat. The terms of delivery to Syria are unknown," Andriuschenko says.
The origin of the grain is not announced. The head of the Center emphasized that last year the yield level in the russian federation fell.
"However, it is grain from the occupied territories that allows russia to export without exposing its own economy to a crisis," he added.
"Therefore, the caravans of trucks from the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions are not decreasing. Now it is clear for whom and why they go to Rostov-on-Don (not exclusively, but in particular). Because Rostov-on-Don is the closest and largest base for transshipment of Ukrainian grain. How in a short period of time it ends up in Syria," Andriuschenko summarized.
Let us recall that russia allocated RUB 5 billion for the export of Ukrainian grain from the occupied Donetsk Region.
