Kyiv declares April 25 Day of Mourning

April 25 has been declared a Day of Mourning in Kyiv in memory of the victims of the massive attack by the aggressor country of russia on the capital on the night of April 24. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this on his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Tomorrow, April 25, has been declared a Day of Mourning in Kyiv. In memory of the victims of the massive enemy attack on the capital," he said.

Klitschko said that a search and rescue operation is still underway, and the rubble in two houses in the Sviatoshynskyi district is being cleared.

So far, 8 people have been confirmed killed, 77 people have sought medical help, and 31 victims are in hospital.

A total of 12 buildings were damaged as a result of the night attack.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of Thursday, April 24, russian troops carried out a combined strike on Ukraine with missiles of various types and Shahed-type strike UAVs and simulator drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 48 missiles and 64 enemy drones, another 68 UAVs did not reach their targets (lost in location). The main direction of the strike was the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to cut short his visit to the Republic of South Africa and return to Ukraine due to russia's massive attack on the night of April 24.
