US Vice President J.D. Vance said that the US will refuse to mediate in negotiations between russia and Ukraine if the US offer is rejected. This is reported by Clash Report.
"We will withdraw from mediating between Russia and Ukraine if we do not receive a positive response. We have presented a clear and fair proposal to both the Russians and Ukrainians," he noted.
The US expects Ukraine to respond to the "final offer" of US President Donald Trump, which includes freezing the front line, security guarantees for Ukraine, US "recognition" of Crimea as allegedly part of the russian federation, and the lifting of sanctions against the aggressor.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the so-called "final" peace agreement that the US handed over to Ukraine provides for the recognition of Crimea as part of russia and recognition of control over the occupied territories. However, the document’s security and recovery guarantees for Ukraine are extremely vague.
At a meeting in London on April 23, US officials plan to discuss with Ukrainian and European officials a peace agreement that would recognize Crimea as russian and establish a ceasefire along the current front line.
