NBU allows Tihipko to buy Idea Bank

The National Bank has allowed the owner of the TAS group, Serhii Tihipko, to indirectly acquire 100% of the shares of Idea Bank.

This is stated in a stock exchange announcement by the seller - Polish Getin Holding SA, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

In March, Polish Getin Holding twice extended the deadline for making a decision on approving the purchase and sale agreement for Idea Bank.

Such decisions were made due to the need to verify the submitted documents and information by the NBU.

Serhii Tihipko currently controls two banks in Ukraine – TAScombank and Universal Bank, on the basis of whose banking license Monobank operates.

Other details are not reported, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 12, the Antimonopoly Committee granted permission to TAS Group shareholder Serhii Tihipko for concentration through indirect acquisition of 100% of Idea Bank JSC shares.

The granting of the AMCU's permission is one of the important steps towards completing the agreement signed with Getin Holding (Poland) on the acquisition of Idea Bank JSC shares by TAS Group.
