US Homeland Security Secretary robbed at restaurant – CNN

US Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem was the victim of a thief while dining at the Capital Burger restaurant in downtown Washington. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, April 20. CNN and USA Today reported this on Monday, April 21.

The Secret Service, which provides security for Noem, reviewed surveillance footage from the Capital Burger restaurant and saw an unknown white man wearing a medical mask steal the minister's bag and leave the restaurant. The thief is still being sought. He managed to steal Noem's driver's license, medications, apartment keys, passport, DHS access badge, makeup bag, blank checks and about USD 3,000 in cash.

"Her entire family was in town, including her children and grandchildren – she used her free time to treat her family to dinner, entertainment and Easter gifts," a DHS representative said.

The Secret Service has launched an investigation to track any use of the Minister's funds.
