There are virtually no serious discussions in the White House and Congress about further support for Ukraine, despite the expiration of the previous aid package approved during Joe Biden's presidency.
The contributors of the New York Times portal have reported this.
According to Ukraine supporters in the US Congress, despite the fact that the current military and financial support for Ukraine, approved in the last months of Joe Biden's presidency, is approaching its end, there are practically no serious discussions in the White House and on Capitol Hill about a new aid package.
"European officials say they have not even received assurances that the United States will continue its extensive intelligence sharing for Ukraine, which has been key to its ability to target Russian troops and infrastructure," the post says.
The publication also notes that in fact, when the White House talks about its relations with Ukraine today, it usually talks more about what it gets than what it plans to give.
After the events in the Oval Office, the United States and Ukraine are reviewing an agreement on American investment and access to Ukrainian minerals.
One example is the agreement on access to Ukraine's strategic natural resources, which is currently under active consideration. It took almost 6 weeks to rewrite a document that was never signed.
"The deal Mr. Trump really covets is one with Russia. But getting there requires getting past Ukraine — either by declaring a cease-fire, or just setting the problem aside," The New York Times reports.
