On the evening of April 16, an unknown person attacked Yurii Makarov, a journalist and executive producer of Suspilne Broadcasting, with a knife. The man was taken to the hospital with a knife wound.
This was reported by Suspilne.
As of now, there is no threat to his life.
The police report that the attack occurred in the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv near one of the residential complexes. The attacker stabbed the journalist and fled. The knife used in the attack was found. The attacker is being sought.
A criminal case has been opened under the article "Grievous Injuries" (Part 1 of Article 121). The police are conducting investigative actions. We call on the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to take the investigation under personal control.
"The Suspilne Broadcasting team wishes Yurii Makarov a speedy recovery and hopes that the attacker will be found and punished," the company said in a statement.
