Zelenskyy and Rutte visits wounded soldiers in Odesa

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte visited one of the medical facilities in Odesa, where Ukrainian defenders are recovering from injuries.

The Office of the President has announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Zelenskyy and Rutte talked with soldiers and medics about the conditions of treatment. Zelenskyy awarded the defenders and combat medics with state awards, Rutte noted the courage of Ukrainian doctors and their contribution to saving the lives of the defenders.

Rutte also reported on X that he visited Odesa together with Zelenskyy and assured that NATO's support for Ukraine is unwavering.

"Ukraine’s people have endured so much - not least Russia’s Palm Sunday attack on Sumy. NATO support is unwavering. We will continue to help Ukraine so it can defend today and deter future aggression, ensuring a just and lasting peace," he noted.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Rutte previously justified the statements of the US administration of Donald Trump about the impossibility of Ukraine joining NATO and assured that there are no changes, because Ukraine was never promised that NATO membership would be part of a peace agreement or ceasefire.
