President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed the opinion that US Vice President J.D. Vance is somehow justifying the actions of russian dictator vladimir putin.
He said this in an interview with the 60 Minutes program.
Thus, Zelenskyy expressed concern about the fact that narratives close to russian are increasingly heard in the United States, and some Americans still doubt who the real aggressor in this war is.
"This is a change of tone, a change of reality, indeed, a change of reality, and I do not want to participate in the changed reality that is presented to me," Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that Ukraine did not initiate the armed conflict, but only defends its territory. In this context, he spoke sharply about US Vice President J.D. Vance.
"It seems to me that the vice president is somehow justifying Putin's actions. I tried to explain: you can't look for something in the middle. There is an aggressor and there is a victim. The Russians are the aggressor, and we are the victim," Zelenskyy said.
The conversation also included an appeal to Donald Trump: Zelenskyy invited him to come to Ukraine to see with his own eyes the scale of the destruction caused by the russian invasion.
