Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called the russian missile attack on Sumy on Sunday, April 13, "absolute evil" and called on the international community to react decisively.
Sybiha's statement was published on the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
"On the morning of Palm Sunday, when believers go to church to celebrate the Lord's entry into Jerusalem, russia carried out a terrible attack on a residential area of the city of Sumy. Many civilians were killed and wounded. Such an attack on a major Christian holiday is absolute evil," Sybiha stressed.
He added that Ukraine is already providing detailed information about this war crime to all partners and international institutions.
"We call on all capitals and headquarters to react decisively. For the second month in a row, russia refuses to accept the US proposal for a complete ceasefire, which Ukraine unconditionally accepted on March 11. Instead, russia is intensifying terror," the Foreign Minister emphasized.
He also called on partners to provide Ukraine with additional air defenses and increase pressure on Moscow.
"Force is the only language they understand and the only way to put an end to the terrible terror," Sybiha summarized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 13, russia struck the center of the city of Sumy with ballistic missiles. As of 12:20 pm, it was known that 21 people were killed and 83 people were wounded as a result of the russian strike, including 7 children.
At the same time, MP Maryana Bezuhla stated that celebrations were held in the city with the participation of the military.
