Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to impose sanctions against 4 people, including politicians and businessmen.
This is stated in the decision of the National Security and Defense Council.
In particular, sanctions are to be imposed against the former head of the Administration of the President, the First Vice Prime Minister during Yanukovych's time, Andrii Kliuyev; the Acting Prime Minister of Ukraine, Serhii Arbuzov; the former owner of the Gulliver shopping mall, the Eldorado chain and the bankrupt Mykhailivskyi bank, Viktor Polishchuk; and the former shareholder of IBOX Bank, the founder of the sanctioned company "Financial Company Leo" Aliona Shevtsova.
The sanctions provide for the blocking of assets and the actual suspension of economic activity in Ukraine.
The US imposed sanctions against Kliuyev back in 2015, but Ukraine did so almost 10 years later.
The structures of businessman Viktor Polishchuk, who has family ties to the russian leadership, had debts to state banks of Ukraine, while Polishchuk himself bought luxury cars.
The investigation of Schemes stated that Polishchuk had fictitiously traveled abroad several times through the Shliakh system.
Aliona Shevtsova's Financial Company Leo, together with IBOX Bank, developed a scheme that allowed the gambling business to evade taxes.
